Using Tynetec XT1 and XT2 systems with a phone

The following guide is applicable to both Tynetec XT1 and XT2, however there is a minor difference in that on XT2 you will need to enter manager mode before carrying out any of the steps below.

On XT2, you will not need to press * to enter manager mode.

Dialling into the system
 

1.     Call the UAC number. If successful, you will hear a two second tone. Once the tone has finished, press #. You will then hear the “Ready” prompt.
 

2.     If not successful, you will either get a continuous ringing, or an engaged tone. If this is the case, leave it 30 seconds and attempt again
 

Checking for faults and parked units
 

1.     After the “Ready” prompt, press *. You will hear “Manager mode, Ready”. Dial 1008*. The system will now read out any faults or parked units. “Ready will be heard when it is finished.
 

Parking a module
 

1.     After the “Ready” prompt, dial the unit ID followed by *. You will hear a two pitch tone and will then have an open speech channel to speak to the resident. Press 5 to park the module.
 

NOTE: This will prevent the unit from calling faults through but will also stop any equipment linked to the unit working, for example smoke detectors and pendants. Use with caution.
 

Unparking a module
 

1.     After the “Ready” prompt, dial the unit ID followed by *. You will hear a two pitch tone and will then have an open speech channel to speak to the resident. Hang up the call using #. The module is now unparked.
 

To determine if the system is onsite/offsite
 

1.     After the ready prompt, press *. You will hear the “Manager Mode, Ready” prompt. Dial 1004*. The system will now tell you what state the system is in.
 

To change the onsite/offsite status
 

1.     Press *. You will hear “Manager mode, ready”. Now dial 1005* to put the system On site, or 1007* to put the system in Remote Offisite.
 

To carry out a complete system reset
 

1.     Press *. You will hear “Manager mode, ready”. Now dial 4000*. The line will go completely dead and the system will reboot. You will be able to dial back in in about 45 seconds
 

NOTE: Use with caution, this will cut off all calls in progress and completely reset the system. Only to be used as a last resort.
 

Changing the time and date 

SETTING THE SYSTEM TIME   

1. Press * You will hear "Manager mode, ready" Now dial 2000 followed by the * key.

2. A message will announce the time (24 hour format) 

3. If the time is correct press the # key to accept

4. If the time is incorrect; enter the new time (HHMM) in 24 hour format e.g. 1300 = 1PM followed by the * key 

5. Press # followed by the LINE key to exit the mode. 

SETTING THE SYSTEM DATE   

1. Press * You will hear "Manager mode, ready" Now dial 2001 followed by the * key.

2. A message will announce the date  

3. If the date is correct press the # key to accept 

4. If the date is incorrect; enter the new date (DDMM) e.g. 0309 = 3rd September followed by the * key 

5. Press # followed by the LINE key to exit the mode. 

SETTING THE SYSTEM DAY & YEAR   

1. Press * You will hear "Manager mode, ready" Now dial 2009 followed by the * key.

2. A message will announce the day number & year  

3. If the day & year is correct press the # key to accept 

4. If the day & year is incorrect, enter the new day and year (DDYY) e.g. 0118 = Monday 2018 followed by the * key 

5. Press # followed by the LINE key to exit the mode.
